About Bluesky Speech Therapy

Jill BaileyI am Jill Bailey, the owner and founder of BlueSky Speech Therapy.

I have lived in Colorado since my teens when my military family moved here. Early on, I fell in love with the golden aspen trees fluttering against the bright blue sky. That beautiful blue backdrop reminds me of all that is good and right in the world and I named my company accordingly!

I received my undergraduate and graduate training at Colorado State University and am a Certified Member of the American Speech-Language Association (ASHA). I also hold a DORA License for speech therapy and a teaching license in the state of Colorado. It has been my pleasure to work in our public schools as a speech-language pathologist for 20+ years. I have successfully treated students who have needs in all aspects of communication and learning from mild to severe including articulation, language development, early literacy skills, social language, autism, executive functioning, organization, learning disabilities, developmental delays, genetic issues and more.

I worked from home when my children were young. During that 15 years, I worked with homeschooling families providing academic testing, speech therapy and academic support. After my children were older, I returned to the public schools, where I am still working part-time.

My son, his wife, and my daughter live here in Colorado Springs. I enjoy the closeness of my parents and siblings who all live in Colorado now - very unusual for a military family! I have a white Shih-Tzu named Ginger, who thinks she is the boss of me. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dog, Pilates, free concerts and Rockies baseball.

Why private practice?
I love my school job, work at an awesome school and couldn't have more respect for my fellow teachers and SLP's. I am always getting requests for private therapy from families who want more for their children. It is my joy to be serving in both worlds.
